Little Learners Pre-School

PROVISION FOR 2-4 YEAR OLDS

Welcome to Little Learners Pre-School at Primrose Lane, where we offer a warm, friendly, stimulating environment for children aged 2-4 years old.

Throughout the week the children enjoy a range of exciting balanced activities from; letters and sounds, cooking, outdoor play and lots more. Our blog page is regularly updated to show some of the fun we have.

We spend lots of time outside exploring our surroundings and the elements. We also join in with relevant school events such as Remembrance Day and assemblies.

Our Opening hours are from 8am to 4pm (term time only) and we offer the following sessions

8 am-4 pm;  8 am-1 pm;  1 pm-4 pm

APPLYING FOR A PLACE

To apply for a place, click on the link below to download a Registration Form, or you can collect a copy from the school office.

The majority of  places become available from September each year and are allocated during the summer term.

Spaces at Little Learners are limited (particularly for 2 year olds) and, whilst we will endeavour to offer places to as many children as possible, submitting a Registration Form does not guarantee a place.

Places will be allocated in accordance with our Admissions Policy.

**Please note that attending Little Learners Pre-School does not give any priority for a place at Primrose Lane Primary School**

OUR SETTING

Little Learners is based in a dedicated classroom within Primrose Lane Primary School. As well as this space we have a wooden cabin which we use for small group work and some lovely outdoor spaces which we use as much as possible, including a garden area.

  DAILY ROUTINE

Each day we follow a daily routine but this can be adjusted based on planned activities like walks, PE sessions or the children's interests.

We deliver the learning curriculum through themed activities - an example of a half-termly theme plan can be found below.

We work on letters and sounds with the children daily and further details regarding learning and the curriculum can be found on the Little Learners Learning and Development page.

 FOOD

Children attending morning or full day sessions will have lunch at Little Learners. You may either provide a home packed lunch, or order and pay for a Meal via the school meals payment system “My Child at School” ( Login details and instructions will be provided after your child has started at Little Learners). School Meals for Little Learners are charged at £2.25 per day. All charges are payable in advance and meals must be booked by the Tuesday of the week before the meal is to be taken.

If sending in a packed lunch, please be aware we do not heat up any food and your child’s packed lunch will need to contain an ice pack.

Primrose Lane Primary School is a nut free environment so please ensure that no nuts or items including nuts are sent in lunchboxes (e.g. pesto pasta, chocolate hazelnut spread or bakewell tarts).

If your child will be attending in the morning and you would like them to have breakfast at Little Learners, we can provide this for £1 per day. This must be booked and paid for half-termly in advance.

If your child still uses nappies when they start at Little Learners, you will need to provide these (together with any cream if needed).
